The course is held in two parts, first the theory in a classroom, find out how your liferaft should be secured with your painter line to the strong point and also find out what survival equipment should be contained within your liferaft.The second part is in a pool this is to learn the skills of sea survival with or without a liferaft. | |
Find out first hand the difficulties for men and women entering an unco-operative liferaft wearing foul weather clothing and an inflated lifejacket. |

This Course satisfies the training by ISAF Reg. 6.01 for cat 0,1 and some cat 2 offshore races. 30% of the crew will be required to take the course The aim of the course is to provide skippers and crew of yachts wishing to sail in OFFSHORE RACES with the skills and knowledge to deal with an emergency while at sea. (Min.7 persons) The course can be taken in modules. • Basic Sea Survival • RYA First Aid • Seamanship / Weather forecasting (The Sea Survival Course must have been taken within the last five years.) |

THE RYA one day FIRST AID COURSE

The R.Y.A. 1 day first aid course is aimed at all boat owners large or small and is designed to provide a good working knowledge of first aid at sea. Training is given in C.P.R. chest compression and resuscitation, bandaging a wound, apply direct pressure to control bleeding, immobilise a fracture and to show the contents of a Cat “C” first aid kit. (Min. 7 persons) |

Sea Safety can also arrange an evening for your Club on Sea Safety and first Aid. The evening would include a live inflation of a Liferaft and lifejacket, and CPR with a dummy. We can also arrange a live demonstration with flares, providing all safety needs have been agreed. (Min. of 2 weeks notice required )
